Back in the workshop this week, we’ve been working on a couple of standout projects. First up, spraying a set of bay window frames in a bold lime green finish. The colour might be unconventional, but once sprayed, the frames looked crisp, vibrant, and full of personality. It’s always exciting to see something a little different come through the workshop doors!
At the same time, we’ve also been crafting a set of very large custom window frames for an upcoming installation in Mayfair. These oversized units require extra care and precision, both in terms of joinery and transport, but they’re coming together beautifully. Each one is being built to exact measurements, ready to bring a grand sense of scale to a prestigious property.
From bright bay windows to high-end custom joinery, it’s been a busy week in the workshop—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Got something bespoke in mind? We’re always up for a challenge—get in touch!
This week, we were in Heer Mews, London, carrying out a detailed overhaul and draught proofing on an existing box sash window, along with some essential restoration work to keep it structurally sound and in line with conservation requirements.
The job began with a full sash overhaul, including balancing, oiling, and fitting new draught-proofing strips to improve energy efficiency and stop those cold draughts sneaking in. The original sill was beyond saving, so we carried out a complete replacement using hardwood, carefully matched and finished to suit the property’s style.
To reinforce the existing frame, we made a resin repair to stabilise a damaged section, sanding it back to a smooth finish before undercoating. We also used traditional conservation joints during the process to retain the window’s original character and stay compliant with local conservation standards.
The result? A beautifully restored sash window that works like new and is fully protected for the future. Working in London’s heritage areas is always a pleasure—if your windows need similar care, get in touch for expert sash repairs and conservation-grade joinery.
